New Delhi, February 1 (IANS). Many announcements have been made in the Union Budget for Uttar Pradesh including emergency trauma centers in all the districts of the state, hostels for working women and rail corridor in Varanasi.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament on Sunday. He said seven high-speed rail corridors will be built as ‘growth connectors’ between cities to boost environmentally friendly passenger systems, including the Delhi-Varanasi High Speed ​​Rail Corridor and the Varanasi-Siliguri Corridor.

The Finance Minister said that the third duty of the Budget, which is in line with the vision of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’, is to ensure that the income of farmers is increased, the persons with disabilities are empowered, the vulnerable groups are empowered to ensure access to mental health and trauma care, the focus is on the northeastern states and the North-Eastern region by accelerating development and employment opportunities. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget speech, also announced the construction of a port in Varanasi for repairing ships.

After Lakhpati Didi, now ‘She Mart’ will be built for rural women. The Finance Minister announced that building on the success of the Lakhpati Didi programme, it is proposed to help women take the next step from debt-based livelihoods to becoming enterprise owners. Self-Help Enterprises (Shei) Marts will be set up as community owned retail outlets within cluster level unions through enhanced and innovative financing instruments.

It was announced in the budget that emergency trauma centers will also be opened in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Finance Minister said that there is no national institute for mental health in North India. That is why we will establish NIMHANS-2. In emergencies, families, especially the poor and vulnerable, face unexpected expenses. We will strengthen and scale up these capacities by setting up emergency and trauma care centers in 50 percent of the district hospitals.

On the Union Budget, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this budget is a symbol of hope and aspirations, in which the vision of the concept of New India and Developed India is clearly visible. He said that emphasis on AYUSH and health sector, arrangements for construction of hostels for women in every district, opportunities for youth in every field as well as reforms in different fields have been presented in the budget. This budget will prove helpful in taking India’s economy forward rapidly.
