Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to the Sahibzadas on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas and remembered their sacrifice and courage.
He said that this day honors the unwavering faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which continue to inspire generations.
In a post on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Veer Bal Diwas is a day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzadas.”
We remember the unwavering faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This day is a symbol of courage, strong faith and integrity. His life and ideals will continue to inspire future generations.
The Prime Minister will participate in the national program organized to commemorate ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital today at around 12:15 pm.
A press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that the Prime Minister will also address the gathering on this occasion.
To commemorate the Veer Bal Diwas, the Government of India is organizing interactive programs across the country aimed at informing and educating citizens about the extraordinary courage and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, and to honor and commemorate the indomitable courage, sacrifice and valor of the young heroes of India’s history.
These activities will include story telling sessions, poetry recitation, poster making and essay writing competitions.
These activities will be conducted in schools, child care institutions, Anganwadi centers and other educational platforms, as well as through online activities on MyGov and MyBharat portals.
On the occasion of Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on January 9, 2022, the Prime Minister had announced that December 26 will be observed as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ to remember the martyrdom of Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, whose sacrifice continues to inspire generations.
Prime Minister’s National Children’s Awards (PMRBP) awards will also be presented during the programme.
