Gorakhpur, January 7 (IANS). UP Congress State President Ajay Rai targeted the Election Commission after the release of the draft list of SIR. He said that the right to vote was taken away from the people.
While talking to the media in Gorakhpur, UP Congress Chief Ajay Rai said that there has been a direct violation in the SIR. The voting rights of the people of Uttar Pradesh have been taken away. The future of Uttar Pradesh has been tampered with. The voters of Uttar Pradesh have been insulted.
He said that during the tenure of one month, we saw how some BLOs committed suicide under pressure. He alleged that the Election Commission and the government together are committing atrocities in Uttar Pradesh and ruining the future of the voters. The names of all the people who have been removed should be added back. Ajay Rai alleged that around 3 crore votes were cast in Uttar Pradesh. Is this ‘purification’ or a conspiracy to purge opposition voters? This new way of suppressing the public voice will not be tolerated in a democracy.
Regarding the new state president of BJP, Ajay Rai said that unless BJP changes its functioning, nothing is going to change. Despite having a double engine government in UP, it could not provide employment and business. The system of law has collapsed. The public is watching everything and now nothing is going to happen from BJP.
In the case of former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, Ajay Rai said that he has not met him. He was harassed in jail, denied food and kept in isolation, which caused him immense distress. If anything happens to them, it will be the responsibility of CM Yogi Adityanath.
On the controversial slogan raised in JNU campus, Ajay Rai said that BJP leaders are only engaged in spreading propaganda. No one is saying anything about the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh. The government only talks big. We just have to do politics on how Hindus and Muslims should be in India.
