Wangchuk has become a traitor but you can play cricket from Pakistan: Thackeray's center

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray has attacked the central government for the arrest of Ladakh environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk. Thackeray questioned that Wangchuk, which developed a solar tent used in difficult areas for the Indian Army, was arrested as a ‘traitor’ and arrested under the National Security Act (NSA), while cricket is being played with Pakistan on the other hand.

At the press conference on Saturday, Thackeray said, “This is very unfortunate. The one who prepares technology for the army was sent to jail and who is called Pakistan -spreading Pakistan, cricket is being played with him. What kind of patriotism is this?”

He appealed that “the patriot Asia Cup final (India-Pakistan match) should be boycotted and companies should not advertise during this match.”

Sonam Wangchuk, one of the major faces of environmental activist and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), was arrested on Friday. He was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA).

The action on him was followed by violent demonstrations in Ladakh, killing 4 people and injuring more than 90. Wangchuk has long been leading the movement of state status and constitutional security to Ladakh.

Opposition parties are constantly raising the issue as to why Pakistan is being formed through sports when Pakistan promotes terror in India.

Significantly, on September 14, India and Pakistan came face to face in the Asia Cup. This was the first match of the two teams, after the Operation Sindoor action in May, in which India targeted terrorist bases in PoK in response to the Pahalgam terror attack (on April 22, in which 26 people were killed).
