Kolkata, May 6 (IANS). A sensational incident has come to light from Madhyagram (Barasat area) of North 24 Parganas district of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Chandranath Rath, personal assistant (PA) to Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead. After this incident there is panic in the entire area.
According to the information, Chandranath was shot in Madhyagram area. He was seriously injured after being shot. Immediately after the incident, with the help of local people, he was taken to the nearby Diversity Nursing Home, but he died on the way. TMC workers have been accused of murder.
After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police have started scanning the CCTV footage installed in the area and the search for the attackers is going on.
Let us tell you that since the results of Bengal elections were revealed on May 4, many incidents of violence are coming to light in the state. During this period, there have been fatal attacks on many people.
Amidst the incidents of violence, on Wednesday itself, Suvendu Adhikari appealed to the people to maintain peace and said that legal action will be taken against those involved in the violence.
He said that some anti-social elements are still active. After the formation of BJP government, action will be taken against everyone without any discrimination or party affiliation.
He also said that if any BJP leader or worker is found inciting violence, action will be taken against him also.
