Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation, the Congress on Sunday targeted him and asked if he would talk about the claims of US President Donald Trump’s India-Pakistan ‘ceasefire’ and the concerns of millions of Indian H1B visa holders or will repeat only what is already known at the new GST rates.
Prime Minister Modi will address the nation at 5 pm on Sunday evening, his office told. However, the Prime Minister’s Office did not indicate the subject of his address in the evening.
Their address will be on the eve of Navratri, the day the revised GST rates will be implemented and a large number of products will be reduced.
Congress General Secretary (Communications in -charge) Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X, “When the Prime Minister is preparing to address the nation, his good friend at Washington DC has once again made fun of him and claimed – 42nd time – that he stopped operation vermilion by raising business with America.”
Ramesh said that President Trump made these claims not only in the US but also in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Britain.
The Congress leader said, “Will the Prime Minister focus on these claims and will talk about the growing stressful relations between India and America? Will he solve the concerns of millions of Indian H1B visa holders? Will he give some assurance to crores of farmers and workers who are on the verge of losing their livelihood due to their good friend’s tariff? Or they will know that we will know that the new GST is prepared and all that Which will be effective from tomorrow? “
Taking a sudden step, President Trump has ordered the annual H-1B non-immigrant visa fee to US $ 100,000, which will have a great impact on skilled Indian professionals in the US.
However, the Trump administration has clarified that the new US $ 100,000 fee for H-1B visas is a lump sum payment that only applies to new applications and does not apply to current visa holders.
Furthermore, Trump reiterated his claim that he had resolved the Indo-Pakistan struggle through trade earlier this year and said that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for “End seven Wars”.
On May 10, when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to complete and immediate ceasefire after a long -night conversation in Washington’s mediation, since he has reiterated his claim that he has helped reduce tension between India and Pakistan.
India has continuously denied intervention of a third party.
“On the world stage, we are once again doing the work for which we are getting the level of honor that have never been received before. We are making peace agreements and stopping war. So we stopped the war between India and Pakistan, Thailand and Kambodia,” Trump said at Dinner, the founder of the American Cornerstone Institute on Saturday.
He added, “Think about India and Pakistan. Think about it. And you know how I stopped it – through business. They want to do business. And I respect the two leaders very much. But when you look at all the wars we have stopped.”
The US President claimed, “Just look. India, Pakistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Rwanda and Congo. We stopped all of them. And 60 percent of these were stopped due to trade.”
He said that “Like India, I said,” Look, if you are going to fight and they have nuclear weapons then we will not do any business. They stopped doing so. “
India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May, under which terrorist structures in Pakistan and Pak occupied Kashmir were targeted in response to the attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 civilians.
On May 10, it was agreed to end the struggle between India and Pakistan for four days after drone and missile attacks from across the border.
