Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he wants to set up factories in Gujarat but wants to win in Bihar.
Addressing a public meeting in Saharsa, Tejashwi said that two people from Gujarat (Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah) are trying to run Bihar. He asked, “Will a Bihari rule Bihar or an outsider?”
Tejashwi, who has been named as the chief ministerial candidate of the grand alliance, said, “Modi ji Gujarat mein factory lagayenge, Bihar mein jeet chahiye? (PM Modi sets up factories in Gujarat and wants victory in Bihar). But that is not going to happen. We are Biharis, we are not afraid of ‘outsiders’.”
He said, “If Laluji is not afraid of Modi, will his son be afraid? ED, CBI, Income Tax, cases, raids. Two people from Gujarat are running Bihar. Tell me. Will a Bihari rule Bihar or an outsider?”
Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the grand alliance will do within 20 months of coming to power what Nitish Kumar’s double engine government could not do in 20 years. He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Accused the BJP leadership of doing injustice against the current Chief Minister of Bihar.
Yadav said, “What the government could not do in 20 years, we will do it in 20 months. We do not know who is the CM face of NDA. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP do not want to make Nitish Kumar the CM of Bihar again. Sadly, BJP is doing injustice to him.”
Raising the issue of corruption, migration and unemployment, Tejashwi said that criminals are roaming freely and without any fear in Bihar as no action is being taken against them.
He said, “Being a Bihari, I am saddened by the fact that Bihar is the poorest state in India. The unemployment rate is highest here. People migrate the most from here. People are troubled by inflation. Industries are not being set up here. Crime is at its peak. Criminals are roaming around fearlessly. No action is being taken. Corruption is at its peak. Is any work being done by taking bribes?”
Furthermore, Yadav assured that the grand alliance will appoint additional deputy chief ministers to increase representation of political and religious minority communities.
He said, “Mukesh Sahni will become the Deputy Chief Minister and will raise the voice of the extremely backward class people. We will make more Deputy Chief Ministers representing other religions and different sections of the society.”
Yadav is contesting the assembly elections from Raghopur assembly constituency in Bihar.
The Grand Alliance on Thursday made the situation clear regarding its key face in the alliance by declaring Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and leader of opposition in Bihar Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial face. Vikassheel Insaan Party’s Mukesh Sahni was declared the alliance’s deputy chief ministerial candidate for the state elections.
The main contest in the 2025 Bihar elections will be between NDA and Grand Alliance. Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on 14 November.
