New Delhi, December 26 (IANS). The winter session of the Delhi Assembly will be held on Monday, January 5. This session will start at 2 pm in the Assembly Hall located at the Old Secretariat. An official notification has been issued in this regard.
According to the notification, this order has been issued by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, which has been published for the information of the general public. It has been told in the order that this session has been called in exercise of the powers obtained under Section 6(1) of the Delhi National Capital Territory Administration Act, 1991 (Central Act No. 1, Year 1992).
Many important issues related to the national capital are likely to be discussed in this winter session. During the assembly session, policies, development works, questions of public interest and administrative matters will be discussed between the government and the opposition. Besides, various legislative proposals and other agendas can also come on the table of the House.
The Assembly building located at the old secretariat will once again become the center of political activities, where public representatives will raise issues related to the people of Delhi in the House. Since it is winter session, security and administrative preparations have also been completed.
It is believed that this session to be held at the beginning of the new year can play an important role in deciding the direction of Delhi politics.
According to sources, the government is preparing to present some pending reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), which may lead to a heated debate between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP.
It has been clarified in the notification that the session will start at the scheduled time at 2 pm and all concerned departments and public representatives have been informed about this. Now all eyes are on January 5, when the winter session of Delhi Assembly will begin.
