Uttarakhand News: After the reins of the country came into the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there has been unprecedented expansion of road, rail and air services in Uttarakhand during the last 12 years. Meanwhile, the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has done the work of installing double engines at this speed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Chardham road project in December 2016. The main objective of this project is to connect the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand with all-weather road. 90 percent work of this project costing about Rs 12,000 crore has been completed, due to which the movement in large parts of the mountain including the Char Dhams has become easier. The Prime Minister has given another gift to Uttarakhand in the form of Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor. With the commencement of this 210 km long highway, built at a cost of Rs 11,963 crore, it has become possible to complete the journey from Delhi to Dehradun in an unimaginable time of two and a half hours. With the cooperation of the Central Government, work is currently going on on important projects like Sitarganj-Tanakpur, Paonta Sahib-Dehradun, Bhaniyawala-Rishikesh, Kathgodam-Lalkuan-Haldwani Bypass and Rudrapur Bypass.

Within the last 12 years, air services have also been started to remote areas of the state. With the cooperation of the Central Government, three big airports of the state, Jolly Grant, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh have been expanded. Besides, 18 heliports are being developed in the state under the Central Government’s UDAN scheme, started to give wings to the dreams of the common man, out of which services have started on 12. During the tenure of the double engine government, regular air services have started from Dehradun Airport to cities like Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune, Kullu. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is running the Mukhyamantri Udan Khatola Scheme to provide air service to remote areas of the state. Under this scheme, heli service is being operated from Dehradun and Haldwani for the hilly districts of the state.
The train is about to reach the mountains
After the formation of Modi government at the Centre, the rail network in the state has also expanded rapidly. With the special efforts of the Central Government, more than 72 percent work of the 125 km long Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line has been completed. With the active efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Central Government has also given consent to the survey of the railway line from Tanakpur-Bageshwar and Doiwala to Gangotri-Yamunotri. Besides, 11 railway stations of the state are being given a modern look under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
The tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be written in golden letters in the development of Uttarakhand. In the last 12 years, all types of connectivity have strengthened in Uttarakhand. Now it is possible to reach big cities from any part of the state in a few hours. The state government is also trying to develop all types of transport means in the state.
