Uttarakhand News: Giving a new pace of development to Almora district, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday gifted various development projects worth about Rs 138 crore. The Chief Minister, who reached Almora, took a big step towards strengthening roads, health, education, drinking water and basic facilities in the district by inaugurating 17 schemes and laying the foundation stone of 9 schemes.
In the program organized in the new administrative building of Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora, the Chief Minister said that the aim of the state government is to take the benefits of development to the last person of the society. He said that it is the priority of the government to provide better road connectivity, health services, education and drinking water facilities to the people living in hilly areas.
Chief Minister Dhami said that Almora is a very important district from cultural, historical and tourism point of view. Keeping in mind the needs here, development plans are being carried forward rapidly. He expressed confidence that with the completion of these projects, the local people will get better facilities and the social and economic development of the area will get new momentum.
Inauguration of 17 schemes, emphasis on education and road projects
The Chief Minister inaugurated 17 development schemes costing about Rs 112 crore. These include projects related to drinking water schemes, improvement of motor roads, parking construction, flood protection works and health facilities. The most prominent projects included the construction work of the administrative building and Vice Chancellor’s residence of Soban Singh Jeena University, which has cost more than Rs 25 crore. Apart from this, improvement of many motor roads and rural drinking water schemes were also inaugurated.
Foundation stone laid for 9 new projects
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of 9 new projects worth about Rs 26 crore. These include schemes related to road asphalting, temple beautification, construction of classrooms in schools and irrigation. He directed the officials that all the projects should be completed with quality within the stipulated time frame, so that the public can get benefits soon.
Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, various public representatives, administrative officials and local people were present in large numbers in the program. Congratulating the people of Almora for development work, the Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously committed to public service and overall development of the state.
