Congress CM face in bihar: Everything in the Grand Alliance is not looking well before the Bihar assembly elections. On the one hand, while RJD has declared its leader Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister’s candidate, now the Congress has exploded the biggest political bomb on this issue itself. The Congress has made it clear that it will contest elections without the Chief Minister and it will be decided only after the election results. This decision has not only shocked Tejashwi’s expectations, but has also exposed the rift in the Grand Alliance. This question is now gaining momentum whether Lalu Yadav will be consent on this strategy of Congress?
Why suspense on CM face?
After a meeting of Bihar leaders with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, Congress in -charge Krishna Allavaru has made it clear that the Congress will not contest any one face and will not contest elections. He said, “The Chief Minister of Bihar will decide the public.” This statement is completely against the RJD stand, in which Tejashwi has been described as the Chief Minister’s candidate. The Congress strategy is on the lines of 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where ‘India Block’ did not declare the face of the Prime Minister. The Congress feels that in the name of Tejashwi, non-Yadav OBCs and upper castes can split up. Therefore, he is trying to get all the classes in the election without CM’s face.
What is Congress plan on seat sharing
While the Congress is not showing flexibility on the CM face, it has said to show ‘big heart’ on seat sharing. Krishna Allavaru said that if new companions come to the alliance, everyone will have to compromise. He expressed confidence that a final decision will be taken on seat sharing by September 15 and the number of seats the Congress will get, it will accept it. This indicates that the Congress will not put much pressure on the RJD in the case of seats, so that the alliance will be saved.
Owaisi’s party ‘No Entry’, ball in Lalu’s court
The Congress has also clarified its position on the issue of including Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM in the grand alliance. Krishna Allavaru said that Lalu Yadav has to take a decision on this, and the Congress has nothing to do with this discussion. This step is an attempt by the Congress to keep a distance from any kind of alliance with Owaisi, so that there is no confusion about the sharing of minority votes.
Congress’s election strategy: ‘every house journey’
This time the Congress will not take out any separate manifesto in Bihar, but a joint manifesto of the Grand Alliance will be released. Apart from this, the Congress will take out ‘every household rights journey’, so that information about the manifesto can be conveyed to the people. Today there is also a meeting of the screening committee of the Congress, in which the names of the candidates will be considered in about two dozen seats. In the 2020 assembly elections, the Congress contested 70 seats and won 19. These winning seats will also be considered in this meeting and if the feedback in the survey deteriorates, then the ticket of the existing MLAs can also be cut. This shows that this time the Congress is preparing to contest elections in Bihar with full force, even if it has to take a conflict with its biggest ally.
