Bihar Politics 2025: The politics of the state has become hot as soon as Bihar assembly elections come close. All political parties are throwing their full strength so that they can gain power. However, this time a new and impressive name has been added to the political fierce battle of Bihar, Prashant Kishore (PK). He has played his political bugle in Bihar’s election summer by fielding his party ‘Jan Suraj’, after which the strategy of the old veterans seems to be wandering.
RJD’s headache, now BJP’s concern
When ‘Jan Suraj’ initially stepped into Bihar’s politics, there was a discussion in the political corridors that this party would prove to be a major headache mainly for RJD and Congress, as this party can dent in the traditional vote bank (very backward and Muslim) of Lalu-Tejasvi. However, now many political experts from Bihar are making a shocking claim. He believes that ‘Jan Suraj’ can now make a huge cut in BJP’s vote bank as well, which can deteriorate the BJP’s electoral situation.
Why PK became a danger for BJP?
The entire campaign of Prashant Kishore is based on Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s old rule and keep development at the center. ‘Jan Suraj’ is attracting those educated and middle class voters who are considered supporters of BJP. These voters are bored with caste politics and are looking for an alternative. Prashant Kishore himself comes from the Brahmin community and many upper caste leaders are joining their platform. In addition, he is also working firmly among the Extremely Backward Classes, who has been a core supporter of the BJP.
Bet on local candidates:
‘Jan Suraj’ is working on a strategy to give tickets to non-political people with clean image working at the ground level. If these candidates are strong in the traditional strongholds of the BJP, it will directly divide the BJP’s votes. Prashant Kishore has not allowed this election to remain two-polar (NDA vs Mahagathbandhan). He has made a third angle, which has forced the BJP to self-churn whether his ‘lotus’ will bloom in Bihar or the storm of ‘Jan Suraj’ will blow up his vote bank.
