Nitish Kumar Increased Vikas Mitra Allowance: The slogan of ‘Vikas with Justice’ in Bihar politics has always been the identity of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Following this principle, his government has taken a big and ‘game-changing’ decision to ensure access to the most disadvantaged sections of the society. The Vikas Mitras and education servants working under the Bihar Mahadalit Development Mission are now ready to connect with the digital age. The government has decided not only to equip these ground workers with state -of -the -art gadgets, but has also increased their allowances so that they can reach the benefit of welfare schemes to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Mahadalit, Minorities and OBCs more effectively. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself informed about this important announcement through a post on ‘X’ (earlier Twitter).
Tablet of ₹ 25,000 and increased allowance to Vikas Mitra
Nitish Kumar said in his post that the role of development friends is very important in providing benefits of various schemes of the government up to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Keeping this in mind, every development friend will be given a lump sum of Rs 25,000 for buying a tablet. This step will help Vikas Mitras collect the data of beneficiaries and to do other tasks more efficiently.
Along with this, there has also been a significant increase in their allowances:
Transport Allowance: It has been increased from ₹ 1,900 to ₹ 2,500 per month.
Stationary Allowance: It has been increased from ₹ 900 to ₹ 1,500 per month.
The government argues that these increased allowances will facilitate Vikas Mitras to work in the field and collect documents, which will greatly improve their functionality.
Education servants for smartphones and teaching materials
Along with Vikas Mitra, it has been decided to empower education servants (including Talimi Markaj). These education servants play an important role in giving benefits of education to children of Mahadalit, Dalit, minority and extremely backward classes and to make women literate under the ‘Akshar Aanchal Yojana’. They will be given an amount of ₹ 10,000 to buy a smartphone to complete digital activities. Apart from this, the amount given per year per center for teaching material has been increased from ₹ 3,405 to ₹ 6,000.
Morale will increase, work will come fast
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these decisions will boost the morale of Vikas Mitras and education servants. They will now be able to complete their tasks with more enthusiasm and dedication. This step reflects the Bihar government’s commitment to benefit the schemes to the lowest section of the society. With digital equipment and better allowances, these workers will be able to carry out their work more effectively, so that the principle of ‘development with justice’ will be able to land on the ground in the true sense. This decision has come at a time when the election stir in Bihar is intensifying. Opposition parties are attacked by the government on many issues, but this step of Nitish government will give a strong political message between Dalit, Mahadalit and backward classes. This announcement is not only an important step towards social upliftment, but also an important part of the electoral strategy, which can directly affect the upcoming elections.
