India bloc on Bihar sir: Before the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, there has been a stir in the state politics as soon as the voter list amendment (SIR) process is completed. Opposition India BLOC has started a great verification campaign at the ground level accusing the Election Commission of large-scale disturbances and cutting the names of millions of people. All parties from RJD to CPI-Ml have fielded their booth level agents, so that objections can be created in the next 48 hours. Opposition parties claim that the Election Commission is not taking data transparency and a conspiracy has been hatched to deprive voters from 65 lakh to 70 lakhs.

RJD launched ‘field report’ from Buxar

RJD started this campaign from Buxar, where MP Sudhakar Singh himself is monitoring it. The BLAS was handed over the voter list from the night of 30 September and the shocking reports have started coming from Wednesday morning.

Unbalanced cuts: Sudhakar Singh claims that only male members’ names have been cut in many families, while female members are present in the list.

Dual voting threat: He also said that the name of a voter is recorded in two assembly constituencies – Ramgarh and Buxar, due to which he becomes a double voting eligible.

Objection will be filed in 48 hours: The RJD leader said that the party had trained Blas in the last three months and now the process will be filled by completing this process in the next 48 hours. He also accused the commission of not having data machine redresses, making it difficult to catch double entry and errors.

CPI-Ml: ‘Reality hidden by releasing data in festivals’

CPI-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya has raised serious questions on this entire process. He alleged that ‘Macro data is hiding the reality’.

Women in the name of women: Bhattacharya says that the names of women are unmistrictively cut.

No discussion with political parties: Questioning the functioning of the Election Commission, he said that the Commission did not even discuss with any political party for such big amendment exercises, only circulars and press releases.

Investigation in festivals: CPI-ML also objected to the release of data at the time of festivals, saying that when BLA and workers are busy in festivals, it is very difficult to check data and file objections in such a limited time.

Election analysts also raised questions

Renowned electoral analyst Yogendra Yadav has also given his expert opinion on this SIR process. He said that in the original form of the process, 1.5 crore voters of Bihar could be denied the franchise. However, after monitoring the Supreme Court, the Election Commission changed its own guideline and gave exemption to about 77% of the voters under the ‘genealogical clause’.

5 lakh additional names: Yadav raised doubts on joining new names through Form 6. He said that in the last one month the number of new voters has increased from 16 lakh to 21 lakhs, and the question is where did these 5 lakh additional names come from?

Data transparency: According to Yadav, it is extremely difficult to analyze the voter list in the image format, which raises doubts on transparency.

India BLOC is now preparing to submit its ground report and data analysis to the Election Commission in the next 72 hours. This ‘war of voter list’ clearly shows that political temperature in Bihar has reached its peak before the 2025 assembly elections.
