BSP Candidate List for Bihar Elections: The political stir has intensified even before the announcement of the dates of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has brought warm in Bihar politics by releasing its first list of candidates for the election. In this list, the party has announced the names of strong candidates in many major seats, which is clear that Mayawati’s party is adopting an aggressive strategy to get back its lost land in Bihar. The BSP has announced candidates in important seats like Bhabhua, Mohaniya, Ramgarh and Karghar, which is expected to be very interesting in these seats.
Bhojpuri Star and RJD connection in first list
There are two names in the first list of BSP, who have caught attention in political corridors:
Political debut of Bhojpuri Singer:
The party has nominated the famous Bhojpuri singer Om Prakash Deewana from Mohaniya (Safe) seat. Om Prakash Deewana is very popular in Bihar through his singing and now he has prepared to leave his mark in politics. His candidature is expected to change the caste and regional equations on this seat.
Ticket to the son of former RJD MLA in Ramgarh seat:
On Ramgarh seat, BSP has given ticket to Satish Yadav alias Pintu Yadav. Satish Yadav is the son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Ambika Yadav. It is clear from the BSP’s decision that the party is working on RJD’s strategy to break into the core vote bank. Satish Yadav’s candidature can make the election match triangular in Ramgarh.
Trust in former minister’s son from Karghar
The BSP has also announced its candidate for the Karghar seat. From this seat, the party has nominated Uday Pratap Singh, son of former minister Ramdhani Singh. The announcement of Uday Pratap Singh’s name has shown an attempt to further strengthen the BSP’s position in Karghar. The party believes that by fielding these impressive and local popular faces at the ground, it has the ability to spoil the vote equations of both Grand Alliance and NDA.
BSP’s ‘aggressive’ strategy: bets on local impact
It is clear from this strategy of the BSP that the party is betting on strong and influential candidates to increase its penetration in Bihar. In the selection of these candidates, local impact, social equation and regional popularity have been specially taken into consideration. The BSP, which could not perform well in Bihar in the last few elections, can now try to unite Dalit, Backward and Muslim voters through these candidates. Political analysts believe that this first list of BSP can become a matter of concern for the Grand Alliance (especially RJD), as it is firmly fielding candidates where RJD has a traditional influence. In the coming days, more candidates are expected to be announced by the BSP, which can make Bihar’s election equation more interesting.
