Duhangan Valley expedition: The youth of the remote Vananchal Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh have today become an inspiration for the entire country. Showing their indomitable will and courage, these brave mountaineers have created a new history by successfully climbing to a challenging height of 5350 meters in the Duhangan Valley of the Himalayas located in Himachal Pradesh. This young team involved in ‘Tribal Alpine Expedition Himalaya 2025’ not only brought glory to Chhattisgarh but also proved that if the intentions are strong, then it is not impossible to touch any peak. This historic achievement has given a new identity to the enthusiasm and passion of the tribal youth of Jashpur and has infused new energy towards adventure sports in the entire state. His success inspires every youth of the state to dream big and fulfill them.
Challenge peaks, proficiency in difficult activities
These courageous youth of Jashpur displayed their excellent skills in the ‘Tribal Alpine Expedition Himalaya 2025’ organized in Himachal Pradesh. This expedition was much more difficult than normal tracking. The team members proved their mettle in difficult mountain activities like trekking, rock climbing and ice climbing. This success is the result of his rigorous training, discipline and unwavering dedication. During the campaign, these youth showed amazing team spirit and patience even in difficult and adverse circumstances. The objective of this campaign, which started in the month of September in collaboration with the District Administration, Jashpur, was not only mountaineering, but also to develop leadership abilities, self-confidence and a sense of collectivism among the youth.
Chief Minister honored: ‘Everything is possible with strong will’
On the return of these brave men, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai honored these mountaineers by presenting them citations at his CM Camp office in Raipur. The Chief Minister wholeheartedly appreciated the courage, discipline and determination of the youth. He said that “the youth of Jashpur have proved that no goal is impossible with strong will and self-confidence.” The Chief Minister emphasized that this remarkable achievement will create a new energy and awareness towards adventure sports among the tribal youth of Jashpur and the entire state. He further said that such adventurous expeditions develop leadership abilities, self-confidence and spirit of collectivity in the youth, which will make them successful in every sphere of life.

The mountaineers credited this achievement to the cooperation of Chhattisgarh government and Jashpur district administration. Expressing his gratitude towards the Chief Minister, he said that it was only with the support of the government and administration that he got the opportunity to be a part of the Himalayan expedition and achieve this glory. This ‘Tribal Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition 2025’ actually started as a local training initiative, which evolved into a powerful, national level campaign through the collective effort, belief and dedication of the youth. This initiative has not only increased the sense of adventure and confidence among the youth of the state, but has also further strengthened the identity of Chhattisgarh at the national level. The flag hoisted on the Himalayas by these courageous youth of Jashpur will become a golden guide for the coming generations.
