Uttarakhand News: After the death of three employees serving through Upanal in an accident, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami presented checks of Rs 50 lakh each to their dependents at the Secretariat on Friday. Through Upanal, Mr. Brijesh Kumar, posted at Power Distribution Division, Jaspur, died in January 2025, Mr. Taslim, posted at Bridkul, Dehradun, in November 2024 and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, posted at Power Distribution Division, Haridwar, died in a road accident in February 2025.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, keeping in mind the interests of government, semi-government and municipal employees of Uttarakhand, an MOU has been signed between the state government and banks to provide various types of facilities and insurance benefits under the corporate salary package. Under this important initiative of the state government, assistance is being provided to the families of employees who die in an accident. The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to Punjab National Bank for providing this facility to Upanal employees.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that no amount of assistance can compensate for the shortage of human beings, but it helps in providing financial support to their families in difficult times. The government’s effort is to provide a safe and respectable working environment to the employees as well as to provide every possible facility to their families in difficult circumstances. He said that under the corporate salary package, insurance and other protections are being provided to the employees in the state. The Chief Minister said that many innovations are being made by the state government under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Many decisions have been taken in the interests of the employees.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Mr. R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Mr. Deependra Chaudhary, Additional Secretary Mr. Manmohan Mainali, Major General Shammi Sabarwal (Retd.), MD Upnal Mr. J.N.S. Bisht, Punjab National Bank’s Zonal Head Mr. Anupam, Deputy General Manager Mr. Abhinandan, AGM Mr. Ajit Kumar Upadhyay were present.
