New Delhi, May 30 (IANS). Now a new picture of change is visible in Badepalli village, situated amidst dense forests and difficult hills of Dantewada. The Health Department team is now continuously reaching this village, which was once considered away from government services due to Naxal influence and inaccessible geographical conditions. Under the ‘Chief Minister Swasth Bastar Abhiyan’, the Health Department team covered a 13 kilometer long difficult hilly path on foot and reached Badepalli and organized a health camp. The team reached the village after passing through forests and rocky roads and provided health facilities to the villagers.
Health check-up of 227 villagers was done in the health camp. During this period, diseases like malaria, sickle cell, haemoglobin, diabetes and high blood pressure were examined. On-the-spot treatment and free medicines were distributed to needy patients. Special attention was paid to the health of women and children in the camp. During investigation, a high risk pregnant woman was referred to the district hospital for better treatment and safe delivery. Meanwhile, 12 patients suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes were sent to a higher health center for further treatment.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the government is continuously working to provide better health facilities to remote Bastar. He said that through ‘Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan’, villagers are getting treatment and essential health services near their villages. The health department team also made the villagers aware about Ayushman Bharat Scheme, nutrition, cleanliness and safe motherhood.
The aim of the campaign is to provide health services to remote areas and also to increase health awareness among the villagers. Local people say that earlier access to health services in such villages was considered very difficult, but now due to regular camps and administrative outreach, people’s confidence is increasing. In the areas of Bastar which were once considered the epitome of fear and backwardness, a new picture of development and public service is now emerging.
