Jharkhand News: JhaThe families of those who lost their lives in the attack by wild animals in Rakhand will now get a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday. Under the existing provisions, a compensation of Rs 4 lakh is given in such cases in the state.
The government has also implemented a new system to make the process of compensation distribution easier and time-bound, under which the initial assistance amount will be made available to the affected families immediately. In such attacks, a compensation of Rs 2 lakh will be given in case of serious injury, Rs 35 thousand in case of moderate injury and Rs 3.50 lakh in case of permanent disability.
The Cabinet has also decided to provide advance salary and easy loan facility to the government employees of the state for their sudden financial needs. Under this, government employees will be able to get advance part of their salary in the middle of the month if required. This system will operate through non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs).
The government claims that with this, employees will not need to take loans at high interest rates in emergency situations. Under the scheme, employees will be able to take salary advance for up to 30 days. No interest or additional charges will be payable if the amount is returned in the same pay cycle. Apart from this, loan facility will be available on easy installments for long term also. The government has clarified that this arrangement will not put any additional financial burden on the government exchequer.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal to bring uniformity in the pay scales of computer operators and data entry operators working on contract in various departments and offices of the state. This is expected to provide relief to the employees who have been facing pay inequality for a long time. In the meeting, administrative approval of Rs 947.26 crore was given for the Amanat Barrage Scheme of Palamu district. This project is considered important for irrigation and agriculture sector. Apart from this, approval of Rs 162.82 crore was given for four-lane widening and strengthening work of Namkum to Doranda road in Ranchi.
The Cabinet also decided to regularize the services of some employees working in Godda and Bokaro Collectorates. At the same time, on the recommendation of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, the appointment of candidates for the post of Motor Vehicle Inspector was approved. Many proposals related to mining sector were also approved. Mining leases were approved for Parvatpur and Sitanala coal blocks in Bokaro district and Jeetpur coal block in Godda district. It was also decided to seek approval of the Central Government for reserving some mineral blocks of East Singhbhum.
Apart from this, proposals like continuing the services of Women Helpline 181, extending the period of Jharnet 2.0 project, constituting an independent panel of experts under the Dam Safety Act and adopting hybrid model for implementation in the Forest Department were also approved. The Cabinet also gave formal approval to the appointment of Advocate Rohitash Rai as Advocate General of Jharkhand.
