Jharkhand Monsoon: Monsoon has formally entered Jharkhand via Santal Pargana. Its effect has been seen in many parts of the Santal region including Pakuria in the state, where the sky was covered with dark dense clouds and light drizzle was also recorded at some places. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon will become fully active in most parts of the state in the next one to two days.
Meteorologists say that this time monsoon has arrived in Jharkhand about 5 days earlier than last year. Last year, monsoon reached the state on June 17. This time the Meteorological Department has considered its timely arrival as a positive sign.
Many weather systems active
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), several favorable weather systems are active at this time. A low pressure trough is extending from northwest Rajasthan to the Bay of Bengal, which is affecting Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal. Apart from this, the south-west monsoon has also spread to some parts of Bay of Bengal, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The Meteorological Department estimates that in the coming two to three days, monsoon may also become active in the remaining areas of Bihar, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
Alert of heavy rain and storm in these districts
There is a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning in many districts of Jharkhand on Saturday. Orange alert has been issued in Dumka, Jamtara, Deoghar, Pakur, Godda and Sahibganj as well as Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Ramgarh in Santal Pargana.
Yellow alert has been issued in the remaining districts of the state like Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Chatra, Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, East and West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Khunti. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel.
It rained at many places in the past few days
Good rainfall has been recorded at many places in the state during the last two days. Chakulia in East Singhbhum recorded the highest rainfall of 92.2 mm. Apart from this, there was 40.6 mm rainfall in Ranchi, 27.6 mm rainfall in West Singhbhum and 10.2 mm rainfall in Chandil (Jamshedpur). Light to moderate rainfall was also recorded in Bokaro and other districts.
Monsoon arrived on time
According to the Meteorological Department, the normal date of arrival of monsoon in Jharkhand is between June 10-12. This time the monsoon has arrived on time, which is considered positive for agriculture and water resources. According to the data of past years, many times the monsoon arrived late, while in some years it was also weak.
