Garhwa, May 19 (IANS). There was a sensation in the area after the body of a 17-year-old girl was recovered from a closed house in Parati village under Ketar police station area of Garhwa district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. There is suspicion of murder in the case. The deceased has been identified as Aakriti Kumari. She is said to be the daughter of village resident Nirmal Singh Chero.
According to local people, the house was locked for the last few days. On Tuesday, a strong foul smell started coming from inside the house, after which the villagers became suspicious. People informed this to Ketar police station. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and opened the door of the locked house. The people present there were stunned to see the scene inside. The body of the girl was found lying in suspicious circumstances in the room.
Seeing the condition of the dead body, the villagers suspected murder. According to the villagers, the deceased’s father Nirmal Singh Chero had come home only two-three days ago and after that he mysteriously locked the house and absconded somewhere. The villagers allege that the father himself had murdered his daughter and with the intention of hiding the evidence, he locked the body in the house and ran away.
After this sensational incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire Parati village and huge anger is being seen among the villagers against the accused father. As soon as information about the case was received, a large number of villagers gathered on the spot. Ketar police station in-charge Arun Kumar Rawani said that prima facie the case appears to be a murder. However, the actual cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes. The police is busy investigating the entire matter.
