Ranchi, June 2 (IANS). Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a meeting with top officials on Tuesday regarding plans to make health services in the state technology-based and more accountable. He directed the Health Department to prepare and submit the action plan to start the statewide ambulance service on the Ola-Uber model within a week. Along with this, he has ordered to set up an AI-based call center, prompt appointment to the vacant posts of ANM-GNM and specialist doctors and conduct a comprehensive audit of the referral system of the state.
During the review meeting of the Health Department at the Jharkhand Ministry on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that complaints are being received continuously regarding ambulance services and many incidents related to pregnant women are a matter of concern. He directed the department to develop such a system under which quick ambulance service can be available to the people through mobile based platform. The Chief Minister directed the officers of the Health Department to speed up the appointment process to the vacant posts of ANM, GNM and specialist doctors. He said that it is the priority of the government to overcome the shortage of human resources in health institutions.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister ordered to conduct an audit of the existing referral system of the state and submit its report. Also asked to review the functioning of hospitals affiliated with Ayushman Bharat scheme. He said that the benefits of health schemes should reach the common people effectively. While directing to prepare a proposal for restructuring of various directorates of the Health Department, CM Soren said that the health needs of rural and urban areas are different. Therefore, separate strategies and action plans should be prepared for both the areas.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister asked to organize special eye check-up camps across the state, extend the ABHA card campaign to schools, colleges and Anganwadi centers and prepare proposals to increase the use of modern medical technologies in the health sector. The Chief Minister directed to set up a blood separation unit, speed up the blood bank licensing process and make the blood availability system app-based.
He also asked to organize regular blood donation camps among government employees and policemen. During the meeting, the Chief Minister praised the Central Radiology Hub established in Ranchi Sadar Hospital and described it as the country’s first such model in the government sector, through which all the districts of the state have been connected. State Health Minister Irfan Ansari was also present in the review meeting.
