Clouds will rain in many districts including Ranchi on Saturday
According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall activities are not going to stop even on Saturday. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Koderma, Dhanbad, Latehar and Chatra districts including the capital Ranchi.
The Meteorological Department says that there will be no major change in the maximum temperature for the next 2 days, but after this the temperature may drop by two to three degrees Celsius during the next three days. This is expected to provide relief to people from humidity and heat.
Where did it rain in the last 24 hours?
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms was recorded in many parts of Jharkhand. During this period, heavy rain was also recorded at one place in the state. The highest rainfall of 66 mm was recorded in Manjhari area of West Singhbhum district. Talking about temperature, Pakur district was the hottest, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.3 degrees Celsius. Whereas the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Latehar district at 22 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall still below normal in many districts
Although monsoon is active in the state, the distribution of rainfall is still not uniform. The capital Ranchi has recorded 278.4 mm rainfall between June 1 and July 16. Ranchi’s normal rainfall for this period is considered to be 361.3 mm, hence the situation here is said to be normal. But except Ranchi, most of the districts of the state have not received the expected rain so far.
Drought like conditions in Chatra and Garhwa
Lack of rain is most visible in Chatra and Garhwa districts of Jharkhand. Chatra has received only 91.5 mm of rain so far, which is 71 percent less than normal. At the same time, only 81 mm rainfall has been recorded in Garhwa, which is 72 percent less than normal. The situation in Deoghar also remains worrying, where till now 145.1 mm of rain has been received, which is 58 percent less than normal. In such a situation, while heavy rain alert is issued in many parts of the state, the weather condition in some districts still remains unbalanced due to much less rainfall than normal. The hope of improvement in the situation in these areas depends on the rains in the coming days.
