CM Pushkar Singh Dhami News: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Overseas Uttarakhandi Conference organized at Doon University on Wednesday as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the establishment of Uttarakhand state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also observed a minute’s silence while paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the disasters in the state. In his address, Chief Minister Dhami has described the migrant Uttarakhandis as the true brand ambassadors of Devbhoomi.
Mentioned the formation of Uttarakhand Council
He said that these migrants are not only taking the culture, traditions and pride of Uttarakhand to new heights, but are also connecting Uttarakhand across the world with the affinity of unique folk culture, language and dialect. The Chief Minister said that the State Government has constituted the Pravasi Uttarakhand Council for this purpose, so that their valuable suggestions and experiences can be included in the mainstream of the development of the state. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously moving towards the goal of developed India and developed Uttarakhand. He also highlighted the progress made in sectors like education, health, roads, sports, drinking water and air connectivity.
Initiatives like House of Himalayas counted
He listed initiatives like One District Two Products, House of Himalayas, Wed in Uttarakhand and Solar Self-Employment Scheme, which have injected new energy into the local economy. He said that Uttarakhand has got first place in the country in NITI Aayog ranking of Sustainable Development Goals, the state has got Achievers category in Ease of Doing Business and Leaders category in Startup ranking. Talking about the policies of the state government, the Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to maintaining cultural values and demographic balance. The country’s strictest anti-copying law has been implemented in the state. Due to which more than 26 thousand youth have received government services in four years.
Emotional appeal made to Uttarakhandis
More than 200 corrupt people have been sent to jail under the policy of zero tolerance against corruption. He reiterated the goal of stopping the migration by the Golden Jubilee year and the glorious return of the migrants and talked about moving towards the cultural prosperity and economic self-reliance of the state with the spirit of “development as well as heritage”. The Chief Minister made an emotional appeal to the migrant Uttarakhandis to become partners in the development campaign. Former Chief Minister and former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari called honesty and hard work the heritage of Devbhoomi and urged the migrants to recognize their strengths. Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly Mohan Singh Bisht has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for organizing the conference.
Heritage of Uttarakhand soul and culture
Vice President Mohan Singh Bisht described Uttarakhand as the heritage of its soul and culture. Film actress and expatriate Uttarakhandi Himani Shivpuri shared information about adopting her native village in Rudraprayag and stressed on carrying forward the cultural traditions. Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, Shri Sudhansh Pant described the conference as a celebration of the smell of soil and belonging and pledged to remain connected to the culture. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan noted the state’s rapid GDP growth and increase in per capita income. On this occasion, migrant Uttarakhandis gave their valuable suggestions and shared information about possible contributions for the development of the state.
