Madhya Pradesh News: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that big festivals, cultural festivals and fairs will be celebrated in the next six-seven months. All these festivals are symbols of our religious beliefs and our gratitude towards nature. On all these occasions, the Culture Department should organize big events by connecting all the societies, their beliefs and cultural traditions. Alha-Udal are symbols of Veer Rasa singing, events should be organized in their memory. Also celebrate Shravan Mahotsav and Bhujariya festival. The message of biodiversity conservation (conservation of snake species) should be given on Nag Panchami. CM Mohan Yadav said that the culture department should organize such events by connecting people, which along with the promotion of our art and culture, also spreads the message of the government.

The Chief Minister was addressing the review meeting of the schemes and activities conducted under the Culture Department in the Ministry on Monday. He said that the art, culture, traditions and rich archaeological heritage of Madhya Pradesh are the invaluable capital of the state, which is the responsibility of all of us to preserve and promote. He instructed the officers that planned and effective efforts should be made to establish the cultural identity of the state at the national and international level.

CM Yadav said that our government is making every necessary effort for the cultural development of the state. We are moving forward in this direction by taking the society along. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism and Religious Trust, Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi was also present in the meeting. He also released the ‘Art Almanac’ prepared by the Culture Department for the financial year 2026-27. In this, a complete calendar of artistic and cultural activities to be carried out by the department throughout the year has been prepared.

Now these will be implemented sequentially. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that in future the scope of religious and cultural activities in the state will increase rapidly. The Culture Department should be further restructured by properly combining the departmental internal characteristics and expertise. Departmental activities should also be expanded in modern contexts. He said that culture, tourism, religious trust and cottage and village industries departments should all work together so that religious and spiritual tourism is promoted in the state.

This will also give recognition to the craft items, handloom items and embroideries made with excellent workmanship in the state. He said that a separate academy should be formed in the name of Emperor Veer Vikramaditya. In this, comprehensive research and other related activities should also be conducted on the biography of Vikramaditya. Chief Minister Yadav said that apart from the famous temples and god places outside the state, now the 2 Jyotirlingas, awakened and desired Shakti Peethas and other religious places present in the state should also be included in the Chief Minister Teerthdarshan Scheme.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while especially reviewing the progress of Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Pathey projects, directed the officials to bring more speed in their construction works. He said that both the above mentioned projects, apart from being centers of religious faith, are also very important from the point of view of cultural and tourism development of the state. With the early completion of their work, religious tourism in the state will get a new direction.

He also stressed on increasing public participation in cultural activities. He said that more and more people should be involved in the cultural programs organized in the villages, towns and cities of the state, so that the new generation can become familiar with their rich art and cultural heritage. In the meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed the progress of various schemes, conservation works and upcoming cultural events of the Culture Department. He stressed on the need to make coordinated efforts to further strengthen the cultural identity of the state. He obtained information about the old fort located at Jagdishpur near Bhopal. He said that a State Cabinet meeting will be held here soon in future to bring alive the history of this fort and to give it national identity.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that information about singers, artists and other people born in Madhya Pradesh or who have come out of Madhya Pradesh and have proved their talent should be collected and they should be persuaded to perform in Madhya Pradesh. With this, the art and cultural diversities of Madhya Pradesh will get a new identity and exposure in the country and the world and such artists will also be happy to connect with their soil. He said that the Culture Department should also make recommendations on the proposals sent by the artists, social workers and environmentalists of the state to the Central Government for Padma Awards. He said that a permanent plan should be prepared for financial help to all the Padma Award winners of the state, so that the needy can be given financial assistance under the government scheme.
