MP News: Monday is considered a very important day for lakhs of government employees of Madhya Pradesh. The General Administration Department (GAD) is going to hold an important meeting today regarding the promotion process that has been stalled for almost 10 years. It is believed that promotion rules will be finalized in this meeting, after which the government can soon issue new guidelines.
In this meeting to be held in Bhopal, Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration Department P.C. Senior officials from various departments including Meena will participate. In the meeting, there will be detailed discussion on legally strengthening the promotion process, deciding administrative arrangements and approving the final draft. The government is trying to ensure that after the implementation of the new system, there should not be any legal hindrance in future.
Promotion process has been stalled since 2016
It is noteworthy that there is a ban on promotion of government employees in Madhya Pradesh since May 2016. Due to this, thousands of employees continued to work in the same position for years, while many employees retired without getting promotion. If the government implements the new promotion policy, then about 4.50 lakh government employees of the state are likely to get direct benefits from it.
Employment opportunities will open for youth also
After the start of the promotion process, thousands of lower and middle level posts will be vacant in various departments. Starting the process of new recruitment on these vacant posts can create new opportunities for government jobs for the youth of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has already indicated that the government is in favor of starting the pending promotion process of employees soon.
Employee organizations expressed objection
However, some employee organizations have also registered their objections regarding the proposed promotion rules. General, Backward and Minority Class Officers-Employees Organization says that it would not be appropriate to implement the new system before the final decision of the court in the matter related to promotion. The organization claims that hastily implemented rules may affect the interests of general, backward and minority class employees.
Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the meeting of the General Administration Department. If the rules get final approval in the meeting, then the promotion process that has been stalled for a decade can start soon in Madhya Pradesh, which is expected to provide great relief to lakhs of employees and youth preparing for government jobs.
