MP Weather Today: The pace of monsoon has slowed down in Madhya Pradesh at present, but the rains are still continuing. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in 50 districts of the state on Tuesday. Whereas in districts like Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni and Balaghat, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department says that a new weather system will be active in the state from July 2, after which heavy to very heavy rainfall may begin in many districts.

Alert of rain and strong winds in 50 districts

According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, Bhopal, Indore, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Dhar, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Narmadapuram, Harda, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Dindori, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Umaria, Sagar, Panna, Damoh, A total of 50 districts including Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari may experience strong winds at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour along with rain.

Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall has been predicted in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Shivpuri, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua and Alirajpur.

Heavy rain alert in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a special warning for Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni and Balaghat districts. About four inches of rainfall can be recorded in these areas during the next 24 hours. Due to continuous rainfall, there is a possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas and overflowing of small rivers and streams.

Weather patterns will change again from July 2

According to meteorologists, at present the pace of monsoon has slowed down, but this is a temporary situation. A new weather system is likely to become active in the state from July 2, which will provide new energy to the monsoon. Due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in many parts of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to keep a constant eye on weather updates and take necessary precautions.

Some relief, some still heat effect

On Monday, many districts including Indore, Guna, Balaghat, Shivpuri, Jabalpur, Khargone, Rajgarh, Chhindwara, Sidhi, Khandwa, Sehore and Dewas received good rainfall. This provided relief to people from humidity and heat. More than one and a half inches of rain was recorded in Balaghat, about two and a half inches in Shivpuri and more than half an inch in Jabalpur.

However, the effect of heat still persists in the north-central parts of the state. Khajuraho was the hottest city, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Naugaon and 40.3 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.

Monsoon has just reached 15 districts

Monsoon had entered Madhya Pradesh on June 24. Till now its official reach has been recorded only in 15 districts Alirajpur, Indore, Dhar, Harda, Betul, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Khargone, Barwani, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori. After this, the progress of monsoon has stopped for now, due to which heat persists in many areas of Gwalior-Chambal, Sagar and Rewa divisions.

less than normal rainfall

Although it has been raining in different parts of the state for the last several days, the total rainfall figure is still behind normal. From June 1 till now, there should have been an average rainfall of 124.2 mm in the state, whereas only 75.7 mm of rainfall has been recorded. That means there has been about 39 percent less rainfall so far. The Meteorological Department hopes that the new system to be activated after July 2 can overcome this deficiency to a great extent.
