Pushkar Singh Dhami: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, while participating in the program organized in Champawat on Monday, gave an unprecedented and historic gift in the field of health services. The Chief Minister inaugurated the state-of-the-art MRI machine installed at a cost of about Rs 6 crore in collaboration with ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The Chief Minister said that healthy Uttarakhand is the main basis of capable, self-reliant and developed Uttarakhand. The priority of the state government is to build hospitals in the state and empower them with modern medical equipment, quality services and trained human resources. The Chief Minister said that with the inauguration of the MRI machine, lakhs of people in the border areas will benefit from better health services, timely accurate diagnosis and high level treatment facilities. He expressed confidence that not only Champawat, but also the citizens of Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital and all its surrounding border areas will benefit from this unique facility.
Recalling the old difficulties, the Chief Minister said that till now serious patients from Champawat and surrounding areas had to go to Haldwani or other big cities for complex tests like MRI, which caused huge time, money and mental distress for the serious patients and their families. Now high-level testing for serious diseases like brain, spine, nerves, joints, cancer and stroke will be available at the local level, which will ensure timely diagnosis and timely treatment and will save many precious lives.
The Chief Minister said that our thinking is not limited only to the present needs, rather we are building a very strong health system keeping in mind the emerging needs of the future. He said that the health infrastructure in Champawat assembly constituency is continuously being strengthened. Construction work of a modern critical care block with 50 beds is being done in District Hospital Champawat at a cost of about Rs 20 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of parking in the lower ground floor, modern diagnostic wing on the first and second floors and modern operation theater at a cost of about Rs 11.71 crore is progressing at a fast pace in the district hospital itself, after the completion of which the health services of the district will become more strong and modern. Due to the construction work of Primary Health Center (PHC) in Amodi at a cost of Rs 2.18 crore, the local people are getting quality medical services in their own area.
The Chief Minister said that to ensure the availability of trained health workers in the state, the construction of a huge and modern hostel with 129 beds has been completed at the Institute of Integrated Nursing at a cost of Rs 470.05 lakh, which will provide a new strength to nursing education in the state. Necessary action for establishment of a new paramedical college in Champawat district is also being progressed rapidly, which will provide new opportunities for medical education to the local youth and the state will get skilled paramedical human resources.
The Chief Minister said that it is the endeavor of the state government that financial deprivation will never become a hindrance in the treatment of any family. Today, through Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana, lakhs of families of the state are being provided completely free and cashless treatment facilities. This revolutionary change seen in the field of health facilities in Champawat is the result of our Antyodaya thinking, at the center of which is the life of the common citizen, his health and his unwavering faith in our government.
The Chief Minister called upon all the citizens to take a pledge to build a strong Uttarakhand where modern health facilities and the right to a healthy life are easily available to every citizen, because only when our citizens are healthy, our state will be prosperous and our common resolve of a developed Uttarakhand will be realised.
