Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 17 development schemes prepared and proposed at a total cost of ₹ 123.79 crore in a grand program organized in Champawat on Monday. In these, 8 schemes completed at a cost of ₹ 27.79 crore were inaugurated and the foundation stone of 9 new development schemes at a cost of ₹ 96 crore was laid. On this occasion, Hon. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Jim Corbett Trail built at a cost of ₹349.98 lakh. Under this project, various construction works and improvement works related to Jim Corbett are being done in various places of the district. Along with this, the Chief Minister also participated in the Bhoomi Pujan program of the City Center being constructed at the Bus Station Roadways.
During the program, the Honorable Chief Minister interacted with various groups and people including priests of various temples, paramilitary forces, youth, public representatives, business boards/dhaba operators, sanitation workers, teachers, entrepreneurs, women of self-help groups, taxi unions, bank employees and bar associations, intellectuals, media persons. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is his intention to make Champawat a model district of Uttarakhand. There is a resolution. He said that the state government is continuously working to connect the marginal areas with the mainstream of development and today Champawat is creating a new identity in the fields of education, tourism, infrastructure, women empowerment, agriculture, trade and employment.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is not just to build buildings and roads, but to develop such a Champawat where youth get opportunities, women self-reliant, farmers prosperity, businessmen new opportunities and every citizen gets equal benefits of development. He said that a modern multi-storey parking and shopping complex (city center) will be constructed in Champawat city at a cost of about ₹ 62.33 crore, which will solve the problem of parking and will also give a new impetus to local business. Besides, construction of commercial buildings, women technology park, modern library, knowledge centre, open gym and various facilities for youth are also being developed.
The Chief Minister said that to provide national and international level sports facilities to the daughters of the state, a Women’s Sports College is being established at a cost of approximately ₹ 257 crore and a modern Science Center is being established at a cost of approximately ₹ 58.52 crore. Apart from this, work is also being done to increase the income of farmers through agricultural colleges, development of cow sheds and modern agricultural techniques. The Chief Minister said that imbibing the mantra of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of “Development as well as Heritage” various religious places including Maa Purnagiri Dham, Sharda Corridor, Golju Corridor and Maa Varahi Dham are being developed under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, which will promote religious tourism and provide tourism to the local people. New opportunities for employment and self-employment will be created.
The Chief Minister said that a modern ISBT is being constructed in Tanakpur at a cost of about ₹ 237.74 crore and a media center at a cost of about ₹ 14 crore. At the same time, work is also in progress towards establishment of residential building for environment friends in Lohaghat, Sainik Memorial in Banbasa and Sainik Multipurpose Center in Pati. The Chief Minister said that the projects inaugurated and foundation stone laid today are not just construction work, but are the strong foundation of developed Champawat. These are schemes that will give new flight to the dreams of youth, new power to women, prosperity to farmers, speed to business and a new identity to tourism.
He expressed confidence that in the coming years, Champawat will become an ideal model of inclusive, balanced and sustainable development and will play a leading role in realizing the resolve of developed Uttarakhand. Congratulating the people of the district for all the development projects, the Chief Minister called for continuous public participation in the development journey. On this occasion, President District Panchayat Champawat Shri Anand Singh Adhikari, Minister of State Shri Shyam Pandey, Mrs. Hema Joshi, Shri Rohit Bisht, Shri Mukesh Maharana, BJP District President. Shri Govind Samant, BJP State Minister Shri Nirmal Mehra, District Magistrate Shri Manish Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Rekha Yadav, Chief Development Officer Dr. G.S. Khati, Additional District Magistrate Shri Krishnanath Goswami, all district level officers, various public representatives and a large number of people were present.
