Rahul Gandhi rallies in Bihar: As the date of voting for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections is approaching, the Congress Party has put in all its strength. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will now lead the election front themselves and according to party sources, both the leaders together will hold 15 big rallies in different parts of the state. The Congress’s aim through these rallies is clear: to reach the heart of the voters, create a strong atmosphere in favor of the Grand Alliance (RJD, Congress and the Left), and generate support for the party in those ‘weak areas’ where its grip has been loose. Congress hopes that the activism of the Gandhi family will strengthen the party’s presence on the election pitch in Bihar and it will prove to be a decisive advantage for the alliance.
Rahul-Tejashwi duo created political ruckus
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has started his election campaign with a bang from Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga on Wednesday. In these rallies, Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial face of the Grand Alliance, was also present on the stage. The young and dynamic duo launched a scathing attack on the NDA government and appealed to the public to uproot ‘corrupt and communal forces’.
Expressing enthusiasm on social media, senior Congress leader KC Venugopal wrote, “The rallies in Sakra and Darbhanga have heated up the election atmosphere, the public wants change.” The jugalbandi of the two young leaders on the stage has filled new enthusiasm among the workers and supporters. The coming together of Rahul and Tejashwi shows that the grand alliance is fighting the elections with complete unity and the pair has been successful in giving a strong message among the youth in Bihar.
Priyanka Gandhi will pay special attention to ‘women voters’
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also reach Bihar soon to add new energy to the election campaign of Congress. At present he is in Wayanad, but by the end of this week many big public meetings have been scheduled in Bihar. As part of the party’s strategy, Priyanka Gandhi will focus special attention on women voters and youth.
Congress wants to ensure that Priyanka’s rallies not only rejuvenate the election campaign, but also bring women’s issues back into the spotlight. It is believed that Priyanka Gandhi has an amazing ability to attract the crowd and connect with the people on an emotional level, which the party wants to take advantage of among the women voters. His ‘Jansamvad’ program will try to bring to the fore issues related to women’s everyday life and safety.
Veteran leaders including Kharge are also in the field
Apart from the Gandhi family, other big leaders of Congress are also entering the electoral battle in Bihar. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge, who recently underwent a medical procedure, will also hold three rallies and a few press conferences in Bihar despite his health condition. Apart from these, many other big and popular faces of the party will also participate in the campaign. These include leaders like Sonia Gandhi, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, youth leader Sachin Pilot and local veteran Pappu Yadav. The activism of these leaders will help in reaching out to voters from different regions and communities.
The way forward: voting and results
Voting for the assembly elections in Bihar will be held on 6th and 11th November, while the results will come on 14th November. Young face Tejashwi Yadav is the chief ministerial candidate from the Grand Alliance. Congress is confident that the aggressive activism of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will strengthen the party’s hold in the state and will give the Grand Alliance a decisive edge against the NDA. The collective strength of the Gandhi family will now play an important role in deciding the direction of Bihar politics.
