What important issues were discussed in the speech?
Trump emphasized reducing inflation and expenses for ordinary Americans. According to the White House, he announced new efforts to reduce prescription drug costs. In addition, a major proposal was made that big Wall Street companies would no longer be able to buy single-family homes, so that it would be easier for ordinary people to buy a home.
In his address, he said, ‘The revolution that started in 1776 is not over, it is still going on.’ The President also talked about restoring American security and supremacy in the Western Hemisphere. Immigration and border security were also the main focus of his speech.
Updates on political protests and Iran
The speech came at a time when the Supreme Court recently revoked Trump’s authority to impose tariffs, which were a major part of his economic policy. On the other hand, military tension with Iran is increasing and according to reports, American military ships (armada) are putting pressure.
The atmosphere in Parliament was mixed. More than 24 Democratic lawmakers boycotted the speech. Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger responded on behalf of the Democratic Party. The event featured guests of the Olympic gold medal-winning US men’s hockey team and Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
