Uttarakhand Cough Syrup Inspection: The Uttarakhand government has intensified the action to strictly compliance with the guidelines issued by the central government for the children banned for children. Under the guidelines of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the teams of Khagh Saksha and Drug Administration Department are running surprise inspection operations across the state. In this sequence, the Department of Drugs inspected several medical stores and medical stores of pediatric hospitals in Dehradun region, from where samples of Pediatric Kapha Syrup have been seized and sent to the state medicine laboratory for testing. The purpose of the department is to ensure that no medical store or hospital is sold, unprotected or unnecessarily sold medicines and no risk is taken with children’s health.

Surprise inspection campaign in Dehradun region

Health Secretary and Commissioner Dr. R. According to the orders received from Rajesh Kumar and the guidelines of Additional Commissioner FDA and Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi, the drug department team today conducted a surprise inspection of medical stores of medical stores and pediatric hospitals located in Dehradun area. Additional Commissioner FDA and Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that during the inspection, many medical stores were found in many medical stores, storage of dextromethorphan hydrobromide, chlorpheniramine maleate and phenylephrine Hydrochloride, storage of padiatric cuff syrup. Action was taken to seize these medicines as per rules. Also, samples of a total of 06 pediatric cuff syrups have been collected in Form-17. Samples will now be sent to the state drug testing laboratory, where their quality and validity will be tested.

Department strict about following rules

Additional Commissioner FDA and Drug Controller Tajbar Singh Jaggi said that during the inspection it was also found that Coldrif, Respifresh TR, Relife Cuff Serp were not available at any medical store. The department clarified that the purpose of inspection is to ensure that only approved, safe and medical approved drugs are available in the state. The department has warned all the drug vendors that if any store is found without permission or restricted medicines, strict action will be taken against them under the Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and related rules.

Government’s commitment, public health paramount- Pushkar Singh Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the priority of the government is to provide safe, quality and certified medicines to the people of the state. He has instructed the officials to intensify regular inspection and sampling process in drug vendors and hospitals.

Negligence or rule violations not tolerated- Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that this campaign of Drug Department is a very important step to protect public health. Negligence or rule violations will not be tolerated at any level. The department has also appealed to the general public to give information about any suspect or label medicine to the nearest drug inspector or departmental helpline, so that quick action can be taken.

Inspection team and leadership

This inspection campaign was led by Deputy Controller of Drug Controller Hemant Singh Negi. He was accompanied by Assistant Drug Controller Sudhir Singh, Drug Inspector Manendra Singh Rana, Drug Inspector Mrs. Nidhi Raturi, and Drug Inspector Vinod Jagudi team. The team said that this campaign will continue even further and medical stores will be monitored in all districts so that only safe and standard medicines can reach the common man.
