Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed academic block and modern auditorium at Graphic Era Hill University located in Bhimtal of Nainital district. On this occasion, he also inaugurated free professional courses for economically weaker and talented students under Graphic Era Kaushal Jyoti Yojana. Also, the meritorious students of the institute and the students doing free certificate courses under the Graphic Era Skill Scholarship Scheme were honoured.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this occasion is of special importance for him, because today the Uttarakhand government has successfully completed five years of service, good governance and development. He said that in these five years, the state government has made continuous efforts to take Uttarakhand to new heights of development by giving top priority to education, health, infrastructure, employment and youth empowerment. He assured the people of the state that the government will work with the same dedication in future also and take the state to new dimensions of development.
The Chief Minister said that the future of any state is not decided by its roads or buildings, but by its schools, universities and dreams of its youth. He said that the identity that Graphic Era has created in the field of education, research, innovation and skill development is a source of inspiration not only for Uttarakhand but for the entire country. He said that the institute has proved that if there is coordination of determination, quality and vision, then even a hilly state like Uttarakhand can become a center of world class education.
The Chief Minister said that the new academic block and modern auditorium built in the institute will provide a better educational environment to the students as well as give a new flight to their talent and will give more impetus to research, innovation and creative thinking. He said that Graphic Era’s establishment of a campus in Bhimtal and taking quality education to the hilly areas is an excellent example of balanced and inclusive development.
Appreciating the launch of free hotel management and engineering diploma courses for economically weak but talented students, the Chief Minister said that education is meaningful only when its benefits reach the last person of the society. He said that work is also being done towards the establishment of Graphic Era Medical College and Hospital in Kumaon division, which will strengthen quality health services in the area and create new opportunities for employment and education for the youth.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to establish Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country in the field of education, innovation and research. With the effective implementation of the new education policy, modern courses related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and other emerging technologies are being promoted in universities. He said that the culture of scientific thinking and research is also being strengthened in the state through institutions like Science City in Dehradun, Astro Park in Haldwani and Science Center in Almora.
Addressing the students, the Chief Minister said that at present the world is changing rapidly and new technologies are continuously providing new opportunities. He said that only that youth will be successful in the future, who has the ability to learn, innovative thinking and the courage to adapt himself to the changing global scenario. He called upon the students to develop leadership abilities, innovation and a sense of social responsibility rather than limiting themselves to just obtaining a degree. He said that it is the effort of the state government that the youth of Uttarakhand should not only become employment seekers but also employment creators. With this objective in mind, startups, innovation and entrepreneurship are being continuously encouraged in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the country’s most stringent anti-copying law has been implemented in Uttarakhand to ensure that the talent of the youth of the state does not fall prey to any copying mafia. He said that it has yielded positive results and in the last five years, more than 33 thousand youth have got appointment in government services with complete transparency and fairness. He called upon the students to dream big and work hard to make them come true and said that they should never be disappointed by failures, because they become the strong foundation of success. He expressed confidence that the students of this institute will bring glory to the state and the country in future by becoming scientists, doctors, engineers, teachers, administrators, entrepreneurs and excellent citizens.
On this occasion, a cake was also cut by the Graphic Era family to commemorate the completion of five years of Dhami government.
