In view of this severe weather, various district administrations have declared holiday in schools on July 20 as a precautionary measure. Amidst the continuous torrential rains, students and parents are now very confused about whether schools will open or remain closed on Monday i.e. 20th July. The administration has made it clear that there will be no compromise on the safety of children.

The Meteorological Department has issued a very serious red alert for Uttarakhand, which is having a direct impact on normal life. According to the forecast of meteorologists, there is a possibility of heavy rain and strong storm like cloud burst in many parts of the state. There is a danger of road collapse due to landslides on hilly roads and heavy waterlogging in the plains. In view of this deadly weather, the administration has strongly advised the general public not to come out of their homes unnecessarily and to completely avoid traveling to the mountains.

Schools from primary to intermediate completely closed
In view of the severity of the weather, District Magistrates (DM) of all the affected districts have issued official orders. Under this government notice, all government and private schools from primary level to higher secondary (12th) will remain completely closed. Along with this, orders have been given to keep all Anganwadi centers closed for the safety of small children. The government has clarified that this step has been taken only to protect children and teachers from the dangers of possible floods and inaccessible roads. Parents have been asked not to pay attention to any rumour.
