Uttarakhand@25: Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, which came into existence on November 9, 2000, is celebrating the silver jubilee of its establishment this year. In this journey of 25 years, the state not only learned to stand on its own feet but also established itself among the leading states of the country. In the coming days, when President Draupadi Murmu will address the special session of the Assembly and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state, this entire journey will be evaluated with a new confidence.
Uttarakhand, which has seen many ups and downs politically, has now taken important steps towards stability and development. Despite leadership changes at various stages, the state maintained the pace of development every time. And today, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand is moving towards new heights.
The determination and determination with which the Dhami government worked in the last four years has given a new identity to the administrative image of the state. To realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a developed India and a developed state, the Dhami government adopted the strategy of promoting the state as ‘Model Uttarakhand’.
Investment, tourism, infrastructure and self-employment were given priority in the state. From modernization of Chardham Yatra to projects like Chardham All-Weather Road, Dehradun-Delhi Expressway, Uttarakhand entered the new era of connectivity. Dhami government took steps like Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Yojana for women empowerment and Uttarakhand Self-Employment Scheme for youth, which increased public participation in development.
Chief Minister Dhami may not have been able to retain his seat in the 2022 assembly elections, but the people of the state reposed confidence in his leadership by giving the BJP an absolute majority — marking the beginning of a new era of political stability and trust.
The state which fought for a separate existence 25 years ago, is today making its mark in education, tourism, energy and digital governance. Chief Minister Dhami’s statement seems accurate today that “Uttarakhand is no longer just a state of mountains, but a state of possibilities.”
As preparations for the Silver Jubilee celebrations are in full swing, the people of Uttarakhand can proudly say that the state is now moving forward on the path of development with strong leadership and a clear vision — towards a new Uttarakhand.
