Test match will start from June 6
The one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan will be played at Mullanpur Stadium, New Chandigarh from June 6. For this, a 14-member Indian team has been declared. The captaincy of this Test team has been handed over to Shubman Gill, while KL Rahul has been made the vice-captain. Earlier, the vice-captain of the Test team was Rishabh Pant. However, Pant has been successful in saving his Test place.
Rohit and Virat return to ODI team
15 players have been selected for the ODI series against Afghanistan. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been included in this team. However, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant did not get a place in the ODI team. Whereas fast bowler Mohammed Shami has once again been ignored. Selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar said that there was not much discussion on Shami’s name.
Jasprit Bumrah given rest
Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for this entire series. It is believed that his workload is being managed in view of the England tour.
