IPL 2026: In the 67th match of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 55 runs. However, despite this defeat, RCB remained first in the points table and the team has secured the ticket for the first qualifier.

Batting first in the match played at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium on Friday, SRH scored 255 runs on the scoreboard after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. SRH had to win this match by more than 90 runs to remain in the top 2 in the points table. However, RCB did not let SRH’s wishes come true. While chasing the target of 256 runs, RCB scored 200 runs after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Despite the defeat in this match, RCB has confirmed their place in the first qualifier, where they will face Gujarat Titans, who are second in the points table, on May 26. SRH also completed the league stage with 18 points, but remained third in the points table due to lagging behind RCB and Gujarat Titans in terms of net run rate. SRH will play the eliminator match on 27th May. However, the opposition team of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator has not been decided yet.

SRH, who came to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, got off to a good start. Head and Abhishek together added 45 runs in 3.6 overs. Head was out after scoring 26 runs in 16 balls. At the same time, Abhishek faced just 22 balls and scored 56 runs with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. Ishan Kishan once again appeared in excellent form and played a strong inning of 79 runs in 46 balls. Heinrich Klaasen scored 51 runs in 24 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. In the last overs, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored unbeaten 29 runs in 12 balls, due to which SRH was successful in scoring 255 runs on the scoreboard after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.

RCB got off to a good start while chasing the target of 256 runs. Venkatesh Iyer played a quick inning of 44 runs in 19 balls and along with Kohli added 60 runs for the first wicket. Virat was out after scoring 15 runs. Devdutt Padikkal contributed 21 runs. Captain Rajat Patidar played a brilliant inning of 56 runs in 39 balls, while Krunal Pandya played an unbeaten inning of 41 runs in 31 balls. Tim David scored 15 runs in 7 balls, but he could not lead the team to victory.
