Elon Musk’s satellite internet services company, Starlink, will soon launch its services in India. The company will showcase Starlink in Mumbai on October 30 and 31. According to news agency PTI, during this demonstration, the company will use the temporarily allocated provisional spectrum. Government investigating agencies will also keep an eye on this performance. This demonstration is a major step towards regulatory approval for the launch of Starlink in India.

During Starlink’s demonstration, government agencies such as police and cybersecurity will closely scrutinize its data encryption, user tracking, and other security checks. Starlink’s connection stability, internet speed, latency and connectivity will also be tested.

Elon Musk’s company claims that it will make internet access easier in remote areas of India. It is capable of providing high-speed internet service even in areas where other networks could not reach earlier. Setup of Starlink in India will be expensive. According to reports, the installation cost will be around ₹30,000. Internet plans in India can start from ₹3,000 per month. The company is hoping to provide speeds up to 25 Mbps.
