Adani Electricity becomes the country's number 1 electricity distribution company for the second consecutive year

Mumbai, March 21 (IANS). Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (Adani Electricity), the flagship company of Adani Group, has retained the position as India’s top electricity distribution company for the second consecutive year. The company has got a score of 92.5, which shows its better performance.

According to the company’s statement, it has received A+ rating in the assessment of 66 power distribution companies across the country. This rating has been given on parameters like better power supply, correct billing and fast resolution of complaints.

Kandarp Patel, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, said that maintaining the number-1 position for the second consecutive time reflects the hard work and discipline of his team. He said that this achievement is not limited to figures only, but it also shows the confidence of consumers.

He also said that the company is committed to providing uninterrupted, reliable and better power service to its consumers in Mumbai.

The country’s power distribution sector is now moving towards a performance based model, where improvements in operational efficiency, financial discipline and consumer services are being seen.

This change is also reflected in the recently released ‘Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR)’ and ‘Consumer Service Rating of Discoms (CSRD)’ reports, jointly released by the Union Power Ministry and REC Limited.

According to the report, there has been improvement in the entire sector in terms of customer service. This time 6 companies got A+ rating, while no company remained at the lowest level.

Adani Electricity’s performance has been strong due to financial strength, operational efficiency, better utilization of resources, supply planning and digital technologies such as smart meters and data analytics.

This company, which serves more than 30 lakh consumers in Mumbai, gives priority to trust, transparency and speed in its work.

The ranking includes both private and government companies, with companies like Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Noida Power Company Limited, South Gujarat Vij Company Limited and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking also included among the top performers.

This makes it clear that now competition in the power distribution sector is increasing on the basis of better management, technology and work results.
