New Delhi, July 14 (IANS). The number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered on the Enterprise Registration Portal and Enterprise Support Platform has crossed 8.9 crore and more than 38 crore people are getting employment in these enterprises. This information was given by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on Tuesday.
The statement issued by the ministry said that the enterprise registration portal and enterprise support platform are playing an important role in formalizing enterprises, increasing access to government support and strengthening the MSME ecosystem.
Udyam Registration Portal provides official recognition to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through a simple, paperless, self-declaration based and free online registration process. At the same time, the Enterprise Support Platform takes this initiative forward by incorporating informal micro enterprises into the formal economy. It enables enterprises that do not yet have GST registration or are not covered under the income tax system to get formal recognition as micro enterprises through verified data submitted by authorized enterprise support partners.
Together, these platforms are creating a more inclusive ecosystem, ensuring that even the smallest enterprises can become a part of India’s formal economy.
The statement further said that these initiatives are empowering women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, rural enterprises, traditional artisans, first generation entrepreneurs and youth-run startups by making government support more accessible and inclusive.
According to the government, the combined impact of the Udyam Registration Portal and the Udyam Support Platform is much broader than business registration. These initiatives are empowering women, SC/ST entrepreneurs, rural enterprises, traditional artisans, first generation entrepreneurs and youth-led startups by making government support more accessible and inclusive.
By simplifying the registration process and expanding the formal base of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, these digital platforms are significantly contributing to the vision of Develop India at the Rate 2047 by helping transform entrepreneurial aspirations into successful enterprises.
