New Delhi, May 1 (IANS). Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said on Friday that the group will add new assets worth Rs 2 lakh crore this year due to the rapid growth in all its businesses.
Addressing Adani Group’s 4 lakh employees on the occasion of International Labor Day, Gautam Adani said, “In the first 35 years of our operations, we collectively created assets worth nearly Rs 2 lakh crore and today our position is so strong that in this year alone we are going to add new assets worth Rs 2 lakh crore.”
He said that Adani Group will make every possible effort to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
Citing examples of various projects like Mundra and the recently completed Ganga Expressway, Gautam Adani said, “When we complete a project, we are not just finishing a task; we are shaping the future of our country.”
He further said that the Mundra project has transformed a large part of barren land into India’s largest port, thereby boosting the country’s trade and connecting the country with the rest of the world.
Similarly, Vizhinjam Port in Kerala will give a new identity to India on the global maritime map and will move the country towards becoming a strong freight hub. Gautam Adani pointed out that Khavra, located in Kutch, where the group is currently building one of the world’s largest green energy projects, is laying the foundation for a safe and clean future for generations to come.
He further said that Navi Mumbai International Airport has become the pride of the country as one of the best airports in the world and it will add a new dimension to India’s aviation capabilities, enhance connectivity and open up new opportunities for millions of people.
He also stressed the importance of the 594-km greenfield Ganga Expressway project in Uttar Pradesh, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister this week. Gautam Adani said that this project will change the lives of more than 8 crore people by reducing the journey from Meerut to Prayagraj from 10-11 hours to just 5-6 hours.
Additionally, he highlighted the Dharavi slum redevelopment project being run by the group in Mumbai. He said, “This is not just a project; it is perhaps the world’s largest and most challenging effort in the field of human transformation.”
Gautam Adani said, “All these projects undertaken by the Adani Group with pride and satisfaction represent a humble contribution to nation building.”
