New Delhi, July 18 (IANS). Skyroot Aerospace’s ‘Vikram-1’ and ‘Mission Aagaman’ are ready to take off from Sriharikota. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning described it as a new historic chapter for India’s space journey. PM Modi congratulated the team of Skyroot Aerospace for this historic launch and wished that Vikram-1 reaches new heights, creates history and inspires a new generation of innovators.

He further wrote, “This mission is an excellent example of the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. At the same time, it also shows how the reforms made in the space sector are opening up new opportunities for innovation and enterprise. My best wishes to the entire team of Skyroot Aerospace for a successful launch. May Vikram-1 scale new heights, create history and inspire a generation of innovators.”
PM Modi urged the countrymen, especially the youth, to witness this historic mission and extend their good wishes to Team Skyroot using ‘India with Vikram-1’.
Let us tell you that ‘Vikram-1’ is India’s first privately developed rocket, which has been designed to send satellites into orbit. Vikram-1’s Orbital Adjustment Module is powered by a completely 3D-printed liquid engine. This is the first time this type of engine is being used in an Indian orbital launch vehicle.
‘Mission Arrival’ is the first orbital test flight of Skyroot Aerospace. This is the first attempt by an Indian private company to reach orbit with its own rocket.
The mission has a small gold rocket carrying miniature statues of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, Sir CV Raman and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Vikram-1 will carry with it ‘Cosmic Bloom’, which is a diamond grown in the lab and is being sent into orbit as an artistic payload.
Under ‘Mission Arrival’, a card with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good wishes and the message of ‘Vande Mataram’ will also be sent, along with hundreds of good wishes from supporters across the world.
