American tech giant Apple is giving you a chance to become a millionaire. The company has announced its new security bounty program, which is the largest reward till date. From next month, anyone who finds a security flaw in Apple’s operating system, devices or services will get a reward of $ 2 million (about Rs 18 crore) under the Security Bounty Program.
Double the prize money
Apple has doubled the reward amount, making it the highest in the industry. Earlier, the reward for this was 1 million dollars. Researchers have to find vulnerabilities in Apple devices and services that could act as spyware. Additionally, anyone who finds a critical vulnerability in Apple’s advanced security feature, Lockdown Mode, will receive a reward of $5 million (about Rs 44 crore).
Research will be promoted – Apple
Apple says the expansion of the bounty program will boost research on serious attacks and help the company protect its 2.3 billion devices worldwide from such attacks. The program also includes the iPhone 17 series launched last month. To participate, researchers must have security experience on any platform and can apply by October 31.
