New Delhi, November 2 (IANS). The government on Sunday said the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 aims to reach two crore pensioners in over 2,000 cities and towns through a saturation-based outreach approach.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh will participate in the SBI Mega Camp under the nationwide DLC Campaign 4.0 at the NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi on Monday.

He will interact with pensioners availing the DLC facility through face to face and observe demonstrations organized by various stakeholder organizations including State Bank of India, India Post Payments Bank (DOP), UIDAI and NIC.

DIC is a key initiative under the Government’s vision of digital empowerment of pensioners, which aligns with the Digital India and Jeevan Sugamata missions.

The campaign emphasizes the use of Aadhaar-based face authentication technology, allowing pensioners to easily submit their life certificate without the need for biometric devices.

Special attention is being given to very senior and disabled pensioners through the Doorstep DLC service of India Post Payments Bank (Department of Posts).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted how Digital India initiatives like Digital Life Certificate have simplified the pension process for senior citizens across the country.

The campaign brings together all key stakeholders including Banks, India Post Payments Bank, UIDAI, MeitY, NIC, CGDA, Railways and pensioners welfare associations to work collaboratively for digital inclusion of pensioners.

NIC DLC portal provides real time monitoring of DLC creation by various agencies.

The government is committed to ease the lives of pensioners and ensure digital empowerment through continuous reforms and technology-driven initiatives like the Digital Life Certificate campaign.

According to Dr. Singh, the Digital Life Certificate campaign has brought a revolution in pension distribution. Singh had earlier told that the campaign used technology to make it easier for the elderly to receive pension. It also eliminated many old rules that were hindering the process.
