New Delhi, March 15 (IANS). Domestic airlines have canceled many flights to the Middle East region on Sunday. Most of the flights are from Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities of UAE.

The reason for cancellation of these flights is the continuous increase in tension in the area.

Among Indian airlines, Air India and Air India Express have canceled several flights to West Asian countries, while IndiGo has canceled flights to Dubai.

“In view of the new instructions from the UAE airport authorities, Air India and Air India Express are having to reduce their temporary flights for 15 March 2026,” Air India Group said in a statement.

The statement further said, “Air India: Will operate one return flight Delhi-Dubai, four out of five scheduled flights to Dubai have been cancelled. Air India Express: Will operate one return flight Delhi-Dubai, five out of six scheduled flights to Dubai have been cancelled. Air India Express has canceled all five flights to Abu Dhabi.”

Air India Express plans to operate flights to Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. Air India Express will operate flights between Ras Al Khaimah-Kozhikode and Ras Al Khaimah-Kochi.

“These flights will be operated as per slot availability and timing of operations,” the airline said.

IndiGo said it has canceled flights to and from Dubai due to airspace restrictions related to the escalating conflict between the US, Israel and Iran.

IndiGo further said, “Due to the changing situation in the Middle East, flight operations in Dubai have been further restricted, leading to changes in flight schedules. Passengers traveling to and from Dubai are requested to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. We are also sending notifications to passengers to update them on the latest information.”

In a previous post, IndiGo had also said that it is in close coordination with the concerned authorities to gradually restore its flight network across the region, as well as on select routes in Europe.
