New Delhi, January 9 (IANS). Google has announced the launch of a new AI feature ‘AI Inbox’ based on Gemini technology in its email platform Gmail. These new features aim to provide users with a more useful and personalized experience.
The company has said that these new features are currently rolled out for Gmail users in the US as well as Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Gmail’s Product Vice President Blake Barnes said in a blog post that these features are currently available in English language and we are planning to launch them in other languages and countries in the coming months.
AI Inbox works like a personal briefing, reminding users of important tasks and surfacing important emails. This feature prioritizes emails from people you talk to often, who are in your contact list, or with whom you have an important relationship.
Google said that all this analysis is done with complete security and privacy and the users’ data remains completely under its control. Currently, this feature has been made available as a test for some selected users.
When you open an email with multiple replies, Gmail will turn the entire conversation into a concise summary of a few key points, allowing the user to quickly understand what’s important in the conversation.
Additionally, if the user asks a question from his inbox, Gemini AI will help him provide a simple and straightforward answer. This facility is being provided to all users without any charge.
Now all users can use the ‘Help Me Write’ feature, allowing them to write new emails or improve existing emails. Along with this, the Suggested Reply (updated version of Smart Reply) feature has also been redesigned, which gives the correct reply as per the conversation in one click.
Both these facilities are free for everyone. At the same time, the proofread feature is available only for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Next month the company will update the ‘Help Me Write’ feature. For this, it will give better suggestions by taking information from other Google apps of the user.
Google said that today 3 billion people around the world use Gmail. AI is already an important part of Gmail with features like smart replies and AI-based spam blocking.
