New Delhi, 24 September (IANS). Government startup accelerator platform Wavex will set up seven new incubation centers across the country. This information was given by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday.
These centers will provide assistance to startups in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics (AVGCs) and Extected Reality (XR) sector.
The new centers will be set up at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (Odisha), Kottayam (Odisha), Kottayam (Kerala) and Amravati (Maharashtra) as well as the Indian Institutes of Film and Television in Pune and Satyajit Ray in Kolkata, along with the Indian Institutes of Pune in Delhi, Jammu, Dhenkanal (Odisha) and Amravati (Maharashtra).
These new centers have been initiated in addition to the current facility at Mumbai -based Indian Institute of Frequent Technology (IICT).
These centers will provide access to advances, post-production and game development, editing and testing to startups through IICT, FTII, SRFTI and other associate incubators.
The ministry said that each center will select 15 startups for its first group.
The ministry said that these features enable startups to design, develop and verify material designs in film, gaming and immersive media to suit global standards.
World-class infrastructure is available in Mumbai-based IICT incubator, including 8 of 8 Red Rapter Vision Camera, 4K HDR preview theater with dolby atmos, high-demonstration alienware workstation, state-of-the-art virtual production staging with LED walls, facial production, facials, and color-maximuming themes, facials, and color-masters. Startups can reach resources through both on-site and digital platforms.
In addition, selected startups will get access to incubation facilities, industry connections, government connections (both center and state), funding assistance, sales and marketing mentorship etc.
The WaveX is a dedicated startup accelerator platform launched under the Waves initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which aims to promote innovation in media, entertainment and language technology sector.
