New Delhi, 13 September (IANS). On the completion of 10 years of Make in India in India, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that it is a right time to set high goals, strengthen the supply chain, increase strength and contribute to employment, export and high-quality manufacturing.
In the 65th annual session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Union Minister Goyal appreciated the recently announced GST reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that decreasing GST rates from 28 percent to 18 percent is a historic improvement and a major relief for the auto industry.
The GST rates for tractors have been reduced to 5 percent, which will boost the agricultural sector.
He said that this reform deserves appreciation of the Prime Minister as it will make spare parts more cheap than before, will strengthen formalities, increase employment opportunities and demand in value chains.
Union Minister Goyal emphasized that the full benefit of GST rate deduction should be delivered to consumers.
He said that this period of reduction in GST rate is the biggest improvement after independence and it will benefit every Indian. He further said that one of the 1.4 billion people will not be a citizen that will not benefit from these reforms.
Citing the late Ratan Tata, he said, “Accept the stones that people throw at you and make a memorial.”
He said that the nation should not be distracted by challenges and India will continue to strengthen with confidence as well as collective efforts.
Union Minister Goyal praised the country’s strength during Korona, saying that India has fulfilled all global commitment by providing medicines and vaccines (some free) to more than 100 countries to ensure availability of essential commodities without any profit.
He further said that India has gained confidence globally and today the country is identified as a reliable and reliable partner.
