New Delhi, December 28 (IANS). The Iran-linked hacktivist group ‘Handala Hacking Team’ has claimed that it hacked the phone of Zachi Braverman, a top aide close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and leaked many details.
According to The Times of Israel, this group has links to Iran, and is the same group that hacked into the phone of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett last week and claims that they also managed to hack the phone of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Chief of Staff, Zachi Braverman.
The group says it got long-term access to Zachi Braverman’s used iPhone 16 Pro Max. In messages circulating online, the hackers claimed to have files, private chats, audio recordings and video material taken from the device, and threatened to publish the content in different volumes.
The Handala hackers say they will then release new information that links Braverman to the Qatargate scandal.
At the same time, Jerusalem Post quoted the PMO as saying, “Nothing like this has happened. The matter is being investigated.”
Two of Netanyahu’s advisers are accused of working for the Qatar-based Perception PR firm, headed by Netanyahu’s former campaign manager Yisrael Einhorn, while working for the Prime Minister.
Feldstein claimed that Braverman learned of a leaked secret IDF investigation and assured him that it could be quashed. Braverman is to become Israel’s ambassador to the UK, but the allegations could impact his appointment. Both Braverman and Netanyahu have denied any involvement in the scandals.
Let us tell you, about two weeks ago, the same group had claimed that it had hacked the Telegram account of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. Bennett’s office initially denied the report, but the hackers later released documents, images and a large contact list. Bennett later admitted that his Telegram account had indeed been hacked.
