How astronauts complete their sleep in microgravity, they also try a unique method for cleaning

New Delhi, May 18 (IANS). The world of space is full of mystery and adventure. In such a situation, do you know how different and exciting sleeping in space can be. Not only sleeping but keeping yourself clean in microgravity in space is also no less than a challenge. Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Jeremy Hansen gave detailed information on these topics.

Jeremy Hansen was seen giving information in an old video that surfaced. Jeremy, who was part of the crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission, told that in the Orion spacecraft they slept next to each other, hanging in a sleeping bag like a hammock. Jeremy Hansen explained in a video posted on social media that sleeping in microgravity is a next level experience.

He told, “We kept ourselves stable with the help of handrails. These handrails are located throughout the vehicle, to these we tie our sleeping bags. All the crew members sleep together and the cabin is prepared according to sleeping. Jeremy told that some people sleep on the seats and some on top. Christina had chosen the place at the top, where her feet remained in the docking tunnel. In this position, she was like a bat. Seemed hanging but in microgravity it is a very comfortable and relaxing place.

Jeremy Hansen also explained the method of cleaning in space in another video, he said that there is no shower or running water facility in the spacecraft, so keeping yourself clean is no less than a challenge. Astronauts use wet wipes for their cleaning. Carry an electric razor for shaving and deodorant to remove body odor.

At the same time, for brushing teeth, there are normal toothbrushes and small bags of water. Instead of swallowing the water after brushing, one has to spit it into the towel. Jeremy likened it to backcountry camping, saying it’s a slightly similar experience. However, they definitely have their own toilet.
